In our modern day language we say things like "I'm going to call up Jason on the phone." That doesn't mean that Jason is coming up. It's just a phrase that is in our language. We could also say something like "Don't bring that up again.". A lot of...
People talk about Billy Sunday and say how he gave up a pro career to serve God. I really wouldn't care if he was good at it or not but people make it sound like he was Babe Ruth or something. They make it seem like he gave up a hall of fame caree...
You know what I remember that Pastor Anderson stated about Billy Sunday was that he was bad at baseball. I did some research to find that Pastor was right that Billy Sunday was terrible at baseball.

Well, I have to thank God for giving me a bible preaching church with the right gospel only 15 mins away.
I believe that if the church is to really grow, it can only come from door to door soul winning, (or they could go liberal and start a rock band).
I heard the preacher say this about tracts- "We need more tracts because it is thought that for every 20-30,000 handed out, one person might get saved".
20-30K, 1 person maybe saved?? Just think if everyone in the church got trained up in soul winning and knocked 20-30K doors! I'm going to talk to him about this on Sunday. I'm praying God will give me the opportunity to teach others what I learned at FWBC.
The other concern I have is that he believes the king james bible is "the best and most accurate translation we have " (that's what lost people say all the time). He says there are no mistakes in it and wouldn't use any other modern bible because they add and take away from God's word. But he does believe you have to go back to the greek to get a better understanding. He said to believe the King James Bible is just as inspired as the originals is like "double inspiration" and the doctrine of preservation is "controversial". He does believe the right gospel of faith on Christ alone for salvation and explains repentance as simply turning to God to place that faith, not turning from sin. He is also strong on eternal security. It just seems that his bible college education (Bob Jones) has become more important to him than what the bible actually says in many cases. This is why bible college is unscriptural and I will never go!
I've been keeping up-to-date with Pastor Anderson's preaching, it has been excellent recently, I thought "doubting your salvation?" was especially good.
I meant to find out how the rest of your fast went? Any more of your family won to the Lord?
Gordon
PS- When you coming to Scotland for small Island soul winning? :)
How are the soul winning efforts out there? I've heard/read great things about what you're doing for the Lord!
I visited that king james only church 3 hours drive north from where I live, but things are pretty dead there- they open air preach every Saturday and hand out tracts- no door to door soul winning. I think they've been there for around 20 years but still have a very small congregation. A lot of them left the church after getting into Way of The Master, unfortunately.
I've recently found a local 'independent baptist church' in Falkirk, 15 mins from my home (where I work). The pastor preaches King James and the preaching seems fairly solid, but to my surprise found out he wouldn't call himself 'king james only' but allows other versions to be used if people want to. I don't understand why he doesnt take a stand on the word of God! Also, during a recent sermon he said the following- "when you get saved your attitude changes, your whole outlook on life changes.. if you're still doing habitual sin then you didn't have real salvation"
He seemed so solid on 'once saved always saved', eternal security and definitely believes that salvation is instantaneous and not a process. But i'm now worried after hearing this thing about habitual sin. I'm discovering that people can say they believe in eternal security but don't really believe it, by throwing some form of works in there somewhere. His name is Gerry Walker and he's looking after the church until the normal pastor- Jonathan Dygert, gets back from the US. They call themselves independent baptists, but I now understand there are lots of different types of independent baptists, is this correct?
Thank you so much for giving me those 5 sermon titles. I've listened to the first 4 and already passed them on to a friend of mine at our church. Thanks again.
Oh cool, I thought football..I mean SOCCER lol was a relatively small sport over in America, American football and base ball is all what I hear, although most of Americas best players play in the premiership, Juventus is good, Lazio...umm not so sure and the dutch league is poor lol :). Are you a member of faithful word baptist church??
There's a number of videos on youtube where they play Obama or Will.I.am saying Yes, we can backwards and it sounds like "Thank you, Satan." I would say people need better things to do with their time, but it's probably the truth lol.
Hey man, ummm...I go to the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London..yes Spurgeon's church but more and more I am seeing the truth, and I love how pastor Anderson preaches the word so clear and for what it is and the role of all believers in the work of soul-winning.
haha NOOOOO I can't stand Manchester United, I'm a Liverpool Supporter :) the best football team
